Want to get one for the home (ie prints fax maybe once every 2-3 weeks at present!), anyone got any advice? Would like digital answermachine with it, that's about it.
Used to love panasonic faxes, still have my fax paper one, now their plain paper one uses a funny ribbon or summat instead of an inkjet, unlike the rest of the segment. Anyone know the good or bad points of this?
Thanks
Brendan

Brother do a multifunction machine (laser printer, scanner, fax) which I understand gets good reviews. May be worth looking at this?
An alternative is to use a standard modem for your outgoing faxes, and register a fax-to-email number with www.efax.com or www.j2.com for your incoming faxes.

Thanks Carl, I have a laserprinter already, and I also wonder what it is like leaving them switched on for six months at a time!! I always thought they were for 9-5 offices.
fax to email is odd, never heard of that... Problem with modem-out is I can't send paper, only stuff that I create, eg no photocopies of maps etc. Unless I scan them in... That's why I was looking for a basic fax machine. I'm a bit sceptical of the "all eggs in one basket" approach.
Any other ideas? I'm just curious to hear reviews of Panasonic's system, good or bad.

We use an HP Fax 1220
It faxes in colour to other colour faxes and is a very high resolution copier too. I think it was around £240.
Don't think it has an answer machine.
