Question

Some time ago a someone was on about a simple device that fits along the fuel line I think, that would give more MPG. The results of this device were then going to be posted on here for all to see. Anyone know the result of this as I aint seen nothing on it.

Myself think its prob a load of rubbish but was just interested as to the result.

Chip,

you're not referring to the catalyst thingy that gets fitted into the petrol tank are you? Broquet(Sp?) it's called I think??

Sorry mate - all these "get more mpg" things are a load of cr@p. They _claim_ to either smooth out the fuel flow (the magnetic ones and such) or make the airflow more turbulent. Neither of which seems to make much difference

If you want better mpg, buy a lower performance car. If you want more miles-per-pound, convert to LPG - I did (Legacy 2.5 Estate) and it's the best money I've spent on the car!!!!!!

Cool

I think you are referring to some sort of bleed air device which works on the over-run. I considered it carefully but could not see how it could have any effect on a Turbo Subaru, maybe something with carbs would benefit slightly. Then in a recent issue of CCC Mag there was a test on a car with EFI and the conclusion was it achieved nothing. Since then I have seen nothing so I guess the people marketing it cannot refute CCCs findings.
