Have noticed many bikes/scooters and a few cars parked up in the west end. All had plastic bags/material covering their plates....

Are traffic wardens not allowed to uncover to read plates????

Not seen it myself, but apparently if the covers are over the number plates, no they are not allowed to move it.

they just look at your tax disc,if you remove that you are in for a fine anyway.

IIRC the regs for tax discs say they should be on display, so hidden may not be a brilliant idea - could in theory hold the same offence as not haveing one.

Yup, my brother's mother-in-law got a fine this way - stuck a new tax disc in the holder and managed to put it behind the old one

Well they are doing it everywhere down the west end. Is it maybe only the police can do something about it?????
