I locked the thread after Chiark(and a few others) RTM'd it. I did'nt feel the need to add anything as Chairk had put it as well as I could.

The last thing we need is a backlash from the ISP's and people for 'encouraging' spam. Unfortunatley the way the system works is that a professional spammer/con artist does it to you, and you complain they just move onto the next fake id. If the normal guy does and the professional spammer/con artist complains then the normal guy cops it.

In anycase I think you had enough 'good ideas' to last you for a while

hi mate, sorry I fully agree with you and your intentions! It's just that scoobynet should not and cannot get involved with this as ultimately it drags scoobynet (really simon, not anyone else) into the brown stuff. This is what mods have to try and avoid I guess.

We *have* to be seen as squeaky clean us mods, so whilst I'd be setting up hotmail accounts and sending sh1te, we can't say that on scoobynet

I'm not merely an **** retentive git, there was thought behind it

didnt intend scoobynet to get involved per se just wanted a few ideas and as usual with things these days it seemed to get out of control a little too quckly.
