![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
What are they like?
I've had excellent service from Orange, but the Online o2 tarriffs look like a good deal...
Do they offer good signal in most area? They say that they piggyback on all the other networks and so offer brilliant coverage, but I'd not heard of this before?
Are they good at billing/payments/customer service?
Thanks,
Jon

With O2 on "pay up front for life", £189 at the time, job done, included phone and here's 50 mins anytime for life sir, no monthly line rental etc. 50 mins doesn't sound like much but suits me.

My work phone is an O2 and the reception is awful and it still bears the Logo BTCELLNET on the screen!!!
I for one wouldnt take out a personal tariff with them, having said that T-mobile are a bunch of money grabbing B@stards (see my recent thread) but the coverage is far superior IMHO

I've been on Cellnet/O2 since 1991 and have never had a single reason to complain
![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Every quarter I get a nice letter through the post which tells me which tariff would suit my use of the phone best and how much I'd save by switching to it. I've just switched to a new one which gives me free anytime/any network minutes, free texts, and free WAP as recommended by O2 which suits me really well
The signal is usually very good (much better since I switched to a Sony Z7 phone!). I really can't think of any reason to complain but if I do I'll let you know![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Been with 02 for 2 years... If you are worried about service, just buy the phone from Carphone Warehouse, or Carphone's website... as Carphone do all the service for 02 phones they sell, although the contract and network is provided by O2.
I should declare here that the company I work for has connections with Carphone.
Simon.

So mixed responses then - I can't buy the phone from CPW and still get the online tariffs
which means I may as well stay on Orange (who I have been with for 5 years and have always helped out)...
I briefly tried a One2One phone and could never get signal, have T-Mobile improved it that much?

Been on O2/bt cellnet for 4 years.Annual £80 one off payment and about 90 mins free calls.
Customer service is a bit of a pain though, hard to get through and they never remind me when payment is due.
Sticking with them though

Bit of a strange one here which I really don't understand....
....just signed up for a new contract with orange but the tariff is with O2.... 100 xnet anytime minutes and 100 texts to any network - 25 quid a month.
Orange network and O2 tariff....how's that work?
Suits me though

Orange do the 'Orange Value Plan' which means you can use any of their competitors' tariffs if you think they offer better value.
Apparently Orange's pricing is going to completely alter on 1st October.

Dave,
that sounds like the OVP (Orange Value Promise) http://www.orange.co.uk/talkplans/ovp/ where they will match any other network tarriff, but with an Orange phone on the Orange network.
polarbearit,
if it is only the tarriff that is attracting you to O2, then give OVP a try!!

Would love to as I am currently an OVP orange user but I found this on the website
With O2 Online for £50 per month I can have 300Xnet mins, 300 Wap mins, 300 Texts and 15mb of data transfer - suits me, but would suit me more on Orange...

For the avoidance of doubt this excludes O2 (Online) Limited tariffs.

polarbearit,
'spose it boils down to what you need (rather than what is on offer).
I just subscribed to the Orange In Front (on top of my Talk 60), where for a fiver extra a month you get 30 text messages (pm), a quids worth of international calls (max rolled up for 6 months) pm, a wildfried trial PLUS a phone upgrade after a year worth eighty quid!!!
So i pay 60 quid, and get GBP36 + GBP12 + GBP80 = GBP128 worth of goodies![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Thats the kinda stuff that suites me![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I understand what you are saying, but the upgrades are free when you have big bills anyway ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
