All,

Having now got 9 points in total for speeding, if i get 3 more i will loose my licence instanly for 6 month min., as my brief told me.

So i need to invest in snooper / godessy etc. in order to reduce the risk of 3 more points. as well as being more careful!!

which unit gives the most protection for all the different traps.

with out making the dash look like the Starship Enterprise interior

those clever technicians at Subaru have already thought of this. There is apparently a clever device fitted in the dash called a speedo, which will tell you what speed you are doing. If you relate the number on this device to the number contained in the white signs with a red border located by the side of the road you should be ok.
Glad to be of assistance.

Slow down! If you don't break the speed limit then you have nothing to worry about! Plenty of dun can be had *without* speeding!

Sorry, I know nothing about radar detectors - I don't use one and have a clean licence!

I would not worry too much about detectors such as the bell etc. They only really tell you about Gatso's (which you can see anyway, and mobile gatso's which are quite rare. They also detect lasers, but if they detect a laser its generally too late and you've already been 'done'.

I'd go for a GPS system which will tell you about perminent and semi-perminent sites. And to be really safe I'd go for a laser jammer which will put pay to those nasty little laser vans and hand held laser units. These are not 'strictly' legal, but there has been no test case in the UK yet, and besides, they have to find the jammer first before they can 'do' you.

Check out the following site:

http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/frames.htm

But basically just slow dowm, that way you'll avoid tickets, killing somebody, or killing yourself!

Cheers,

Rob

The only guaranteed way not to get more points is to slow down. With 9 on the cards, you can't put your trust in a machine as if you get caught with an undetectable trap (lasers are common...) then you're f***ked.

A mate at work ended up driving everywhere at the speed limit and found driving much more relaxing for a start. He also found himself leaving MUCH more time for his journeys, which helped too

If you get another 3 points with 9 already, the judge is going to ban you IMHO, even if you turn up with letters from your employer telling him that you need your car for work etc. It could really make a massive impact on your life...

Not trying to preach, but I know if I was on 9 points I'd be damn careful and not think "how do I not get caught" but rather "must watch the speed"...

Forget these guys. If you can hold a speed of 160mph (true speed) then the radar gun/gatso/laser would not be able to take a photo of you.

Thumbs up

Yeah, I'll reiterate too. Slow down. Fact is, all the fancy radar-detection in the world won't help you if an unmarked car catches you with Vascar.

Just take it easy. Either that, or buy some shares in a local taxi firm.
