The trip was purley pleasure - 2.5 weeks with my old school friend (Japanese, as i am sure you guessed)
Clarance, you have definalty been to Japan a few times - the scooby dealer was the one in Nara. Also i went to Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto.
Japan is such a different world and experience. I had the best time having my friend translator - not the easiest place to get by on just english alone - especially out of the main cities.
The savings are building up again and i may try and buy a car there next time - somehow !!!

Yes, I've been there a few times (4 times, first time when I was 3, last time was 3 years ago). Enjoyed the place very much, & I can more of less find my way round Tokyo on my own (car showrooms, model shops etc). Every time I returned home my suitcase is full of brochures, cars, electronics, magazines, etc etc.
The car in the above pic is a 'Will Cypha', made by Toyota & based on the Yaris (called Vitz in Japan). Toyota created the 'Will' brand as a range of creatively designed goods (not only cars). The first Will in the series is the Will Vi, a 4-door saloon which looks like a cross between a Ford Anglia & a 2CV.
There are also 'Will' TV sets on sale in Japan, made by Panasonic.
If u goto Japan, u can see a lot of cars & other stuff which are never exported officially, & quite a few of those cars are in the pictures.

clarence - spot on reply to the "Will" car.
there was loads of amazing electronics and just general gizmos out in Japan. We were at the Sony building and my friend was asking whether the laptops would work with UK XP. Sony's reply was although the fundamentals will work (word and excel) they cannot guarentee the gizmo hardware will work (drivers only available for japanese OS) - these items are for the Japanese market only. Those lucky guys and gals![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
and the export versions are nothing special

I think with the poor Japanese economy, companies are more willing to export their high-end stuff than before.
The Will that I like is the Will Vs, a very distinctively styled Corolla T-sport. The Will u fotographed has a very advanced 'G-book' in-car telematics system. Talking abt in-car systems, the satnav systems in JDM cars are generations ahead of what currently are available in the rest-of-the-world.
