6x9 3-way speakers, any recommendations

I,m looking for a pair of 6x9's for the car & the last time I bought some, ten years ago, JBL's were the new big thing
Is this still the case or can I get better these days?
Whilst I'm on the subject, how do I run an amp for the above and the sub-box from just one pair of audio out ports on the stereo?

I have listened to a pair made by "AUDAX" (They are a very famous brand) maplins had some for sale at around £60. Thay have a great HI-fi type sound.
If I was going for 6 x 9's these are the ones.
