Bel LR detector lets me down

are you sure it's a Gatso?
if it's a Truvelo then there are no radar signals to detect - you can see sensors set in the road just before the camera.

Since having the device, I haven't had any problems aside from it picking up radar signals everywhere, even in the middle of nowhere.
Then this morning I was on my way into work on the A45, coming up to the same camera I pass every day. As usual, the detector detects nothing and I assume cameras not switched on.
Carry on at 70mph (just after it changes to 50mph limit).
As I pass camera it flashes.
Detector hadn't made a sound!
This is a standard gatso. Nothing special. Feel a little let down.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Should I expect the usual 3 points or more?
PS: In case anyone is thinking of lecturing me on speeding, please don't waste your time. I have researched causes of accidents etc and am happy with the speed I was travelling.

I don't know much about them, and use common sense instead (read, I am too tight)
Do people really trust them enough to drive trough a camera breaking the speed limit
I am sorry you got caught speeding but not suprised.

It's true, and I'm hoping I hear nothing from it, but the fact is that something made it flash, and my detector didn't pick up any radar.
It has thrown doubt on the effectiveness of the detector, and I'm now wondering if it's even worth using?

Just remembered one other thing; The camera only flashed once?
I got flashed by one a few years ago and it definitely flashed twice. I thought they always did?
Can anyone confirm this?

I'm pretty sure it's a Gatso, but will check tonight.
Apparently, one flash from a gatso means it is a dummie.
Got my fingers crossed, and I guess I'll be more careful in future.
Still a right f#ckin waste of public money. Don't mind em in built up areas and that but on dual carriageways where the speed has just gone from 60-50?
Imagine if that money was put into catching drunk drivers, or people without licences/insurance etc?

I have had to edit my original message after advice from my legal team, but can of petrol, box of matches, piece of string, sorted.
