Can we all join in?
I'm trying to persuade my wife to start painting again, and to sell her pictures. There's some of her artwork here. Thoughts?
Oh, and chrome, you might want to consider watermarking the images (as I have on our site). I know it's not that likely, but somebody might want to nick 'em; if they're watermarked at least they can't be passed off as somebody else's.

Any bugs, or problems with the site, drop me a mail as per profile...
thanks!
Brad.

Brad,
A few things:
-Internet Explorer v4.0 &5.0 compatible. Netscape v3.0 & v4.0 compatible also.
Is this meant to be minimum spec? If so, not the same thing.
-Please download the font for this site here Nb. Save to: C:\WINNT\Fonts
Remember that not everyone is running Windows NT.

Not bad, but *never* make users download fonts!
Use a nice sans-serif (Verdana, Helvetica, Arial) or if you need something fancy then do the text as graphics but keep the file sizes down.
If you have a look around you'll notice that good sites don't make you do anything, browser size, screen res, fonts etc.
I noticed there is quite a lot of white space. It might be a good idea to size it to fit an 800x600 res and have the whole layout centred. Like this: http://www.planwithus.co.uk

Very interesting site...
A number of my relations are artists but we've never put any picture on the net, copyright problems are hard enough without images easily available - eg recently someone in Australia printed 10,000 postcards without paying any royalities. We only found out when someone from Japan was at an exhibition in the States and had one of these post cards! Then we followed the trail
Anyway to the site - it looks good, but could do with less white and more about the artist, people like to know who has painted the pics.

he, she will get around to it... shes busy painting most of the time so we'll see its gonna stay minimalist tho.. easier to maintain
thanks for the feedback

jlanng has a point. Something like 60% of people are still running 800x600.
It's acceptable to have a site that requires scrolling below that res, but rule number one of web design is to make the site as accessable as possible.

right.
done the text changes, and made it 800*600 friendly...
the images have lost some quality but are far faster now.
voila.
just updates to bio and new page to do now..
cheers,
C

nice to know the late nights have been worth it
Just wanted to clarify to save time in the future..
We work on an offer only basis.. no set prices..
So if you love a piece as much/or more than Danni does, drop us a line!
Please make the offers sensible... Danni is v sensitive about her art.. hehe ...no £10 offers please, or I'll have to send the boys 'round
pierre: got your mail.. yhm back mate.
chrisB: you know what to do.. mail me an offer mate!
Si: thanks for the advice.. glad I did it now, as it looks even more "zen" at high res' AND it looks ok at 800*600 ... strewth! LOL
