A friend of mine has asked me to source some computer software on the net for him. He would like something to help him design a new home. Are there any packages around that you know of ?

Thanks !

Ricky !

careful what u get - I bought Bruderbond's 'complete home', an American package that I was assured handled metric (and it stated so in the user manual)..

BUT it only takes input in whole measures of feet and inches - and then converts to metric; so forget about getting whole measures in metric unless you know the exact imperial equivalent of a metric measure.

Only an issue, of course, if u need metric measurements.

I used DataBecker's 3D Dream Home Designer - very good, very easy and fairly impressive results. Check out these fully-rendered views:
Exterior
Lounge
Kitchen
Dining Room
Bathroom

Thank you very much MarkO. Thats exactly the kind of software I'm after. Is 'DataBecker's 3D Dream Home Designer' the exact name of the software ? Its just so I know what exactly to go looking for.

Thanks again to all who have replied !

Ricky !
