just bought this on video at the weekend and wondered what all the fuss was about. its been baned since 1981 quite tame in some respects there is some violence but nothing over the top, yes the rape scene is controversial but surley it could have been edited, i`ve heard in the past this what has stoped it beeing releasd. quite a good film too. anyone else seen it or have any coments? its been released uncut to

I've seen it in the cinema (pre 1981 - old git!!).
a lot of fuss about the rape scene at the time - but i dont
know why it was withdrawn ??
Funny how standards change - i watched 'Clockwork Orange' a few months ago, and it seems tame compared to some recent movies.

Susan George was thought to be a bit of a 'babe' at the
time - wonder what she looks like now ???????

it was slightly cut for the cinema. susan george nice set of t!ts when she takes her top off and goes up stairs.
clockwork orange was never band, kubrick withdrew it after some alegeded copy cats of the murder of the tramp.

the fuss was that it was shoot with a more graphic rape scene, this caused some controv. so it was edited down but the edit made the rape look even more graphic in a "is that unconventional sex?" way. thus more controv.

it therefore self fuels its own long term ban so more graphic (but less controv. films) get shown in later years while Dogs is still banned as to unban it would have cause.....controv.
a kind of cinematic myra hindley.

it was also a lonnnng time ago when your avarge pop starlet didnt dress like a ***** and if you swore at a cop you got a clip round the ear....times change.
