Just shows, it takes all tastes.
Personally, i think Billy Connolly is one of the unfunniest "comedians" on the circuit. I absolutely do not find him funny. Can't put my finger on it - his delivery, his subjects, his accent, i dunno. I just don't get it/him.
There was a thread a few months ago, "Funny men who aren't any more" or something similar. I'm very surprised Mr Connolly only got two mentions.

He's the funniest guy ever to walk the face of the earth, he's like a god to me
So he f*cking swears a bit, who gives a sh*t I think people get stuck on the swearing and don't see the comedy. The lotto adverts are sh*t though, I get the impression it's all scripted and he's just init for the cash, good lad!
I think he's make a fantastic Prime Minister

I'm with Bob on this - the bloke is a comedy god. Anyone who can do an entire 2 hour show and not actualyl tell a 'joke' (in the sense of what most stand up comedians would call a joke) has a rare talent. What he's great at is human observation - making us laugh at ourselves. Sal and I sat there last night creased up

Ive gotta agree with TelBoy on this one. Cant see anything funny about him. Not sure its the gypo appearance and accent but I just cant stand the guy. Add to that those pathetic lotto adverts he does and AAAARGGGHHHHH.
Each to their own I suppose.

I spat wine over my dog last night (luckily it was white wine) whatching it PMSL .. I'm not a die-hard fan of Billy (don't go and buy his videos etc) but I will make a point of watching him if he's on.. he's probably still the best comedian.

His world tour of Australia is something I will watch over and over again for ever.
That sort of thing cannot be scripted, its just from the heart, funny, whimsical, and so well observed.
He's a natural entertainer, he doesn't need to swear,he does, but not gratuitously, and it takes nothing away from it.
If you don't find him amusing, don't watch, your loss I think.

Think he was still talking about 'unfunny'
Billy Connolly is the funniest guy on the planet. No age-old jokes, no racism/sexism just observational comedy - always the best.
The only ones that come close are Lee Evans and Robin Williams (in his 'on stage' hey-day).

I've seen him live twice now, both times I couldn't wait for him to get off stage cos I was hurting so much and about to suffocate due to extreme LOLing
Anyone know if he's touring again?

He has become a bit of a parody of himself, maybe he is the Des O'Connor of Scotland...........
I think a private show or a good exchange in a boozer would be outstanding though. Must take my caravan to the Lonach next year............

P1Fanatic - All jokes have to come from somewhere, I heard Billy Conolley do it in a 1971 concert SO many 'old' jokes have come from his early concerts. What further proof do you need?
