A mate of mine actually got a phone call from Orange asking if he wanted to upgrade, in return for signing a contract for a further 12 months.

Ring them up and if they don't play ball, threaten to switch networks - that should have the desired effect...

I've upgraded for free twice now. As long as you sign to Orange for another 12 months then you should get a new phone. If you don't, threaten to switch networks that usually works.

just go to www.orange.co.uk and click the upgrade option next to the phone... and look for one thats free..! aslong as you have had your phone longer than a year then they wont charge you to upgrade, only the price of the hand set.. once you fill in the info they will call you within 24 hours..!

According to "the Orange shop" catalog for December, you can upgrade to a Nokia 3510 (polyphonic rings, GPRS, 8 days standby), Samsung N620 (polyphonic ring, WAP, 4.5 days standby), Sagem myX-5 (poly-ring, GPRS, 10 days standby) ALL FOR FREE.

Chucking in a few quid will get you a fancier handset (up to a Nokia 7650 picture phone for GBP179.99).

Don't forget that by upgrading (thus one more year's contract) you automatically get Orange Care, which is worth a fiver a month in itself!!

are you on orange..???

If so... see my post above..

My girlfriend has a T100 and i just got the new colour nokia 7210 and i wish i had got the T100..!! its alot better, i.e the T100 come with a free data cable and CD for installing photos e.t.c onto the screen.. and managing your phonebook and ringtones...

The screen is a lot better to, bigger and more clear.. than the 7210..!

If you are not bothered about keeping the same number,it really pays to go ont he market as a new customer again.I got a 7650 for free, after haggling, and on a decent tariff as well (£30 a month)

Or if you dont want a flashy phone and dont use it much then make Orange do their price match against Virgin. No line rental at all, very reasonable call charges and still on Orange so you get a decent reception. I swapped mine and my wifes phone on to it and our monthly bill is now about £3.00 for two phones. Much better than £17 per month each.
