the first couple of years were passable but just recently it's become a turn-off and just annoys me - I'd turn it over but the wife love it - so it's either Friends or nothing

I am so pleased I am not the only one - everyone in the office here, espcially the girls thinks it's the dogs nuts, and all my social group too - we will go round for a meal to someones and finish dinner and........................someone suggests sticking on a Friends video!!! FFS I got rid of Satellite to avoid the missus switching to Sky One - I can't get away from it - went on hols to Spain and what was on the in-flight entertainment? - you guessed it....friggin Friends!!!

Its a bit long in the tooth but I still find it really funny. Dunno if it appeals more to a younger generation.
Much better than the rest of the boring yank crap like Frazier, Seinfeld (sp?), Ali Mcbeal, Sex in the City etc.
Its losts its way in Series 7/8 but I still watch it if I catch it whilst browsing through all the cable channels.
Simon.

FRIENDS- you know what I hate about it most- the smug looks on the faces of those dip**** actors probably because they are pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode- FOR WHAT??
The fake saccharine bonhomie that oozes from every self satisfied pore of this repellent program makes me sick to the stomach!
Worse the whole world seems to like it-
Bring on "the one where the friends all die painfully" episode

whenever I get irritated by it and say something to my mates they say I am jealous of the money the actors are on - but come on no one is worth £500,000 an episode FFS

They are..............in the sense that Friends makes the network millions of dollars. It is based soley around those 6 people so they can hold the network to ransom. They have said they will quit several times but the network throws more money at them.
Would you turn it down?

I'm sorry, but I find it funny. The later series aren't as funy or fresh as the earlier ones, but the last 2 series have been an improvement.
And yes, I am jealous of the $500,000 per episode they get.

I can't stand it TBH, but for $500,000 an episode I'd shoot another series...maybe ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

no I'd take as much money off them for as long as I could get away with it, thinking not only the networks are mad but all the people who pay for any of the merchandise and end up going into debt to buy it - any there a plenty of them
by debt I mean putting it on plastic and not settling the bill at the end of the month

It is about as funny as treading on an upturned plug.
I am amazed that people seem to live their lives vicariously through such trash, they have such empty lives themselves. Some poor fellow above mentioned suffering going round to mates place for dinner and then all watching Friends afterwards - WTF?? How pathetic is that.

It is also my choice to have an opinion on it.
You seem to miss the point that to go to see your friends for a sicial evening and then end up not actuallly interacting with them but all end up goggling Friends on TV does involve some irony. Entirely different from the lone person at home watching cricket for 5 days. I'd hate to do that too, but if you like cricket and have the time to spare, then fair enough.

I just needed to know I wasn't the only one who finds Friends and most other American humour absolute drivel
it's up to people what they watch at the end of the day - I was just getting concerned that everyonelse seems to love it and only me dislikes it
