Mobile camera van operating on M1, parks on hard shoulder and takes your photo. Transit high roof with turret on top enclosing camera. WATCH OUT the B******S are about, again!

Gooner,

How do you mean at Hendon?

Where you come off at J2?

Are they allowed to park camera vans on the hard shoulders of motorways? I thought the hard shoulder was an exceptionally dangerous place with a high probability of being hit, especially if there for some time.

Seems unlikely even Plod would go as far to stick a camera van in a dangerous place, especially when there are all those lovely bridges they can use!

I hope you guys are right, my passenger swore it wall 'Old Bill' and as I have collected far to many points recently I am not feeling quite so bad, just can't wait for the next 2 weeks to pass without a nasty brown envelope arriving. If this is the case I may need to kill my passenger for giving me duff info, I couldn't see what it was as was travelling at sonic speed!!!!

I saw this yesterday on the way home from work, I was travelling southbound, there were four contractors in yellow jackets and hard hats mincing about around the Tranny, I think it may not have been Plod, maybe repairing the mess the LWB Sprinter left before Christmas as it slid down the MI on its side before trashing the entrance to the services .
But Plod do like to sit on the bridge of the services, if youre travelling S/B it will be the 2nd of the bridges and right in the right hand corner, you dont see them until you pass under the 1st bridge and its too late then (3 pts 3 years ago ), its not too bad in the winter because the leaves arent on the trees and you can see that corner as you come off the straight from Edgware, but once the leaves are back you just have to slow down just in case.

Also look out for the Unmarked Vaux Omegas (Saloons and Estates) usually in pairs racing down the M1, on their way back to Hendon, many a time have I been passed doing 85 and these boys are doing well over the ton, 120-130 maybe and you cant even get a rizla between them, nutters, it must be some training school game, or pursuit practice, I'd rather they didnt do this in the fast lane of the M1 though.

Dave
