Anyone know of any basic foods that are good for the teeth? All I can think of is apples - presume it's stuff that you have to chew on that doesn't contain much sugar.
Any ideas?
PS. This is for my 6 year olds school project - and I haven't got a clue! He's got to bring in a wrapper/packaging of one things that's good for his teeth, and one that's not.
Cheers for any help!

Actually apples are quite acidic so i'm not sure on that one.Nothings really "good" for your teeth, except flouride, but i guess some things are worse than others.
I think milk is good for them.

As per south-star, very few foods are actively good for teeth, as they are designed to last a lifetime with proper care. It's the foods which are not good for teeth we need to avoid.
Apples are not good for teeth, they're too acidic. Also avoid sugary foods and anything hard which might chip them.
Milk, or any high calcium food is good for bone strength, so obviously including teeth, and fluoride is the best protection against decay. Brushing correctly will also minimise gum wear.
So, to take to school; a tube of toothpaste, a pint of milk, some Orbit chewing gum, a lump of cheese. HTH
