Did it 2 years ago and really enjoyed it - great atmosphere. The actual ride is easy if you are a cyclist but watch out for all the once-a-year charity riders. All in a good cause but no concept of watching out for other riders. Loads of sudden stops and wobbles, taking people out all over the place.
We were following a real babe in lycra and just admiring the view when the guy beside her just turned right into a driveway. She went straight over the top of him and crashed big time.
The run out of Clapham was superb, bunny hopping all the speed ramps and ignoring the police trying to keep us on the right side of the road, then dodging the traffic coming the other way!
In other words, well worth doing but take care.

I did it two years back but couldn't find a single pub open on the way - guess the early start put pay to that.
Last time my mate managed to take himself and 2 others out 15 mins after the start...cue ambulance...and he's signed up to do it again![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Its a good day out - recommend it to anyone!

Did it last year. What an adventure!!!!!![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Got up late, and got dropped off at Clapham common at about 11am. Everyone had gone, and everything was getting packed away. They'd even taken most of the route markers down, so after about an hour me and my mate found ourselves lost in the middle of London.
Ended up buying a pocket sized road map from a petrol station and making our own route there......mainly down 'A' roads!!![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
We met up with the original route about half a mile from Brighton so atleast we got our badges!!
(and we managed to bypass Ditchlin Beacon!![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
)
Probably will do this year, but make sure we're up early

I did it a couple of years ago aswell. Really good fun and not that hard although Ditchlin Beacon is a killer. Saying that I did top out at 50mph on the way down
'kin scary though.
Wouldn't do it again as there are just too many people. In some places we had to get off and walk becasue of the shear volume of bikes. Oh and wear some sunscreen. We got really burnt as you don't think of putting it on at 6am
