Agreed,

But hey its middle-lane hoggers who are the worst culprits!

Yep harsh fines, imprisonment or hanging, whatever it takes!

I agree, must be made an immediate priority by the Police, all over the country!! I'm sure it would cut congestion on the motorway networks, but of course, the Government want us to be in static traffic so we think about using the over-priced, uncomfortable and ineffective public transport system we have. (I am not a conspiracy theorist, honestly!)

When I served, it was one of my pet hates, and still is. Many people still think of Motorway lanes being slow, fast and overtaking when in fact the left hand lane is the driving lane with two overtaking lanes.

I used to regularly report drivers for driving without reasonable consideration for other road users, and many would lose their licence.

It is one of the main reasons why the absolute offence of nearside overtake was done away with back in the mid seventies, although many people still believe an undertake is illegal, which is not strictly true.

What about lorry races on dual carriageways? I was stuck behind a couple battling it out for about 5 minutes on the A34 this morning.

Great, that will keep the Devon and Cornwall police busy, maybe they won't have as much chance to play with speed guns
All we need down here now is a total ban on Caravans in the summer between say 9AM and 5PM and we'll all be happy

Question

In France, on dual carriageways and three lane motorways, lorries are forbidden to overtake if there is an upwards gradient, and signs are posted forbidding them.
Why haven't we got that law?

Excellent move!

Need to extend the crackdown to Avon & Somerset as well.....just about every time I head to Devon the M5 resembles a dual carriageway west of Bristol - hardly anyone bothers to use the near-side lane

I can't understand why people do move over?? Oh yeah, they are lazy and can't be bothered to observe the conditions around them - which is why they don't notice when you've been sat behind them for 5 minutes on full beam trying to make them realise they should pull over

A34. Every monday morning i do the A34 oxford -> southampton, lorrys ruin my would be nice fast trip every time, i think they must do it on purpose as it only two lanes. They always seem to wait untill they're going up hill as well so down to 40mph we all go. Gits. Coming back late at night damn fine road as no camra's and almost always empty

Steve - I go from Basingstoke to Newbury in the other direction very morning. Don't understand why there are so many lorries on it! Also wondering when they're gonna resurface that 3 mile stretch on the inside lane going south!!
