Thumbs down

Anyone think this was a bit of an anti-climax for the series ?
Couldn't be bothered watching the whole lot, found this week's quite boring.
And I thought they had swapped one rat-race for another, they didn't really change their way of life that much;

9-5 Tesco in UK
5-9 B&B tourist trap in Chamonix

And what is it with the English going to a foreign country and not taking the time to learn the bl**dy language before going out there ?!

Not bothering to learn the lingo is what made this country and its empire great!

It's damn hard to learn the language until your in the actual country- of course you can learn a few choice phrases- here's some French I learnt before arrival:- retourne enculer les mouches ,vas te faire enculé ,fils de pute ,mes couilles sur ton nez (my fav can't work out why you'd say this!!!!that's the French for you).

I'm still working on my French but the phrases above have sustained me in my sejour!

wasn't the point that they would work their nuts off for the summer and christmas periods and have the rest off?

MAybe I missed something.

After last weeks disaster though, this one would have had to be a corker to match it !

Last week's was classic !

Yeah, maybe I did miss the point, only watched half of it, but taped the rest in case I'd miss something (like the point!)

Thought it was pretty good, takes some b*lls to do it and it looked like bloody hard work to me! Maybe a rat-race still but still looked like a better quality of life.

Big gamble as I could see it.
Calculate Startup costs to the penny, then add £30k to fend off the bank.
Looked extremely hard work though.

Basically, they got the chalet finished at 16k over budget, invited 14 or so friends over for a test run adn the food was awful.

They weren't getting any bookings so had to use an agency who thought the chalet was great, but took up to 50% of the money they earned!
They went to a show in London to drum up some trade, but didn't get any bookings from that.
They didn't get any work till the christmas season, and then weren't full. They managed to blag the cooking after a bit of hecticness (new word ) and the people who stayed loved it.

They managed to break even in the end. Not bad as they missed the busiest bit, and they did look as though they were going to make a go of it!
And they got to ski once in the whole time on boxing day.

Have I missed anything?
