I don't think I've made it round the bend after the big leap more than once or twice so this should be fun!

Another VERY close one last week at Zandy.

we REALLY should get together for this race soon...

Was it kernel who said he had a server he could use as a dedicated server?

I really should get round to installing it on the scoobynet server...

we could have most of the world on there then!!

Cheers

Simon

I can probably host a race for a few people (say 8) with my ADSL connection. The limiting factor is my crap PC

Sometime over this weekend?

Cheers,

Christian

So far this hotlap stuff has resulted in me going much quicker than ever before, lets hope the same happens in Canada It needs to for me to get close to Simon here!

I can host races, but only have ISDN. It is routed and works OK, but I can only host 5, or, if we are lucky, 6 cars

Using Cristian's ADSL would be better, where are you located Chistian? Better still would be if Simon could install GPL on the Scoobynet line What is the bandwidth, where is the server hosted?

If peeps want to try it I will setup my server Sunday PM. After the GP off course.

Regards Kernel

Max bandwidth is around 1000Mb / sec (that's right a giga-bit! )

Should be enough lol

Seriously though I may get a chance to do it over the next few days, and would have to check any security issues.

Should be doable at some point though.

Cheers

I'm in West Sussex, and have hosted races for about 8 or so before with no probs (other UK guys with ADSL were seeing pings of around 60ms to me).

Sunday after the GP sounds like a plan. I'll try and be in vroc around then (I go by the chat name Dragonfly), so perhaps we can finally get a race together...

Cheers,

Christian

Simon has sooooo much bandwidth the obvious solution is to host races via his connection

We could have a permenant GPL / UT or whatever server available for Scoobynet use. Start our own game network

As for Sunday, I will be there, keep an eye out for pnutty_uk. Thats me

Cheers Kernel

OK, just to get the ball rolling again - having met up with Kernel for a race after the GP, I set a rather appalling 1.24.41 in the Ferrari. Not much of a starting point, but it is something!

Kernel and I had great fun racing the FD class cars around Mosport. Shame a few more of you guys couldn't have made it - it was a blast

Thanks again to Kernel for setting up the server - really enjoyed it mate! If you fancy another race sometime, let me know.

BTW, the GPLFD league is at

Sorry chaps..

I haven't had a chance to practice this one.. and don't think I did one lap without spinning off on the 20 minute go I had on saturday.

Apologies for being slack!

Looks like Christian wins by default!

Would you like to do the honours Christian?

Cheers

Actually, Kernel beat my pretty pathetic time by 0.2, so if anyone should choose...

We can stick with Mosport a bit longer if people want to set some more representative times?

Failing that my suggestion is Osring if people don't mind add-on tracks, or Silverstone if they do.

Cheers,

Christian

HeHe, I actually have a 1:23.05 saved from a practice earlier in the week. However, I don't really like this place, doesn't click with me.

Haven't tried the osring yet so here is the chance Should be fun, what sort of lap times should I be looking for?

As for Sunday that was a blast Christian, just needed a few more of us so the carnage could have been bigger

Simon, when can you make a session, you were missed
