Someone owes me some money
They went into the post office & paid over the money & they gave them a post office cheque
They then sent this cheque to me but it appears that the cheque has gone missing in the post
They have spoken with the post office & been told that the cheque cannot be stopped & that there is nothing they can do !
Obviously the person who owes me the money doesnt want to pay the money out again BUT WHAT CAN BE DONE ????
Can anyone help please
Cheers
Paul

Isn't there supposed to be a receipt for the one who pays in the money? did he show it to you? and after all, he owes you money, you didn't get the money. it would be your problem if you lost the money after you received them, right? it's his responsibility till the money come in touch with his hands. Good luck mate.

There should be a receipt for the cheque, or, ask him which post office which day and phone 'em.
I think it's a bull excuse. I bet they just don't wanna cough up. Tell 'em it's there fault and they better get you that money or else

How did the Post office send the PO on to you?
Was it recorded or special delivery? If it is then its trackable (special delivery is trackable immediately, recorded can be tracked after 2 weeks-ish) If it was sent normal post then you might aswell spent the rest of your life counting the grass in the garden. I deal with the royal mail everyday and its impossible to get a straight answer from them. Excuses are their forte.
The only hope you have is to claim back the cheque from them which means filling in a long form where they call you a liar several times and ask impossible questions just to get back the MAXIMUM payout of £27 for lost items sent by 1st or 2nd class.
Good luck, you will need it

you should have the counter foils the the p.orders? therefor you should have some comeback, also the orders sould have been crossed so only the person who they were made payable to, could cash into his/her bank account.
have you tried the post office help line?
cheers mike
