Question

I'm currently in New York looking for a watch that I can buy here and sell on in the UK for a profit.

Can any of you guys recommend a specific watch that will sell well in the UK?

Yoza has recommended two:

An Omega Seamaster Proffesional and a Breitling Super Ocean.

Any other recommendations (circa 1000 pounds)?

Thanks!

Andy.

Is it really worth it though.I bought a Longines watch in New York a few years ago, price here £895,price in NY £695.However if i tried to sell it secondhand..which is what it would be,i doubt if i'd make any profit at all.

Secondly most people can buy online if they want anyway.Unless you have a buyer lined up,i'm not sure you'll make much imo.

Good point.

I'm still gonna look out for one just in case I can get a bargain.

The Omega's £800 at Costco so I wouldn't bother with that one.

theres a variety of seamasters- i would say the cahnce of buying retail in the states then selling at a profit is not high! at best what is your time worth? if you make £100 but it takes you a X hours to sort...is it worth it?

The watch I bought off Yoza a few days ago retails for $2100 over here which means I made a nice LITTLE saving

Off to Canal Street now...

Thanks for your help!

See if you can find an Omega James Bond Ltd Edition whilst you are their, their were only 10,007 produced worldwide, special bezel and 40th Birthday on the back and 007 on the face in silver, on ebay for about £1700 , they were £1350 over here !!

Good luck , you will only find them at an Omega stockists !!

happy hunting .........

Andy,
Be careful what you buy or should I say how many you buy, wheather it be quality fakes or the real deal, you can get stung for tax on them on your way home.

If you buy a real deal,I would suggest you post the box and papers home, and get your mate to wear it,saying he had it on on the way in to the US.

Later Yoza

Yoza - thanks for the info mate - I've bought a fake Tag for my mate but except for that haven't bothered.

Getting the fake Tag was quite hard work! There appears to have been a crack down on this sort of stuff so nobody is willing to sell them...odd!

Anyway, if anybody is wanting to buy a specific watch and it's cheaper in the US then let me know. So long as you can guarantee that you'll buy it off me I don't mind buying it and bringing it to the UK.

Andy.
