Not 0%, but I just got an American Express Blue card with a 2.9% balance transfer rate that's fixed for the life of the balance

Got 6 months to run up my other cards on bitz and then transfer to the Blue card

haha , the missus saw something on The Wright stuff a few weeks back. A student got as many credit cards as he could with 0% interest for the months. Then took all the money from the card , put it in a high interest account / savings , once the time was up ... paid the cards and had so much left from doing nothing at all.

brett,

the sunday telegraph ran a similar article last week- the lenders know it happens but the numbers doing it are so few they dont care- there are also 3 mugs to every clever bloke who forget to pay back in time. with reasonable credit rating you can roll £30k along without ever having to repay it or pay interest.

Unhappy

I just went into Google and typed 0% credit cards UK. Got a whole load.

Was quite interested in the Arsenal one. I am a Spurs fan and have an offset mortgage. The thought of getting 0% off Arsenal on £8,000 and earning the interest myself was very appealing!!!

Brett - I have an offset mortgage for 100k and 4 credit cards with 15k limits on each. At any given time I will have between 45 and 60k interest free loan from a number of card companies paying more than half my mortgage - so kind. Big problem is, get it wrong by a week and they make more back from you than you would have saved in 6 months

Don't you have to prove that you're paying off a balance though?

No, just give them another card number, preferably one with a cheque book. Once the other card is in credit, just write yourself a cheque.
