Logitech FFB Wheel - GT3 only???
#1
OK, so my (BigGT3Fan) colleague is nearly there in persading me to buy a PS/2 with GT3 and the Logitech force f/b wheel
...but the wheel is advertised as being for GT3 only. So if I want to play Formula 1 on the PS2, do I need another wheel??? What makes it 'GT3 only'. Can I use it on my (USB) PC - and if so, for what games? Any ideas anyone?
The next challenge is, of course, to get BigGT3Fan to buy a Scoob

If your looking for a cross-platform wheel I would so for a PC one. I have heard that several USB PC wheels work perfectly with GT3, even their pedals work!!! I'm sure some else on here will be more helpful than I.
If Formula 1 supports a wheel then I'm quite sure the GT3 wheel will work............it's most probably a marketing ploy to make you but the Offical GT3 wheel instead of a cheaper Unoffical one.

Simple......let him use your scoob for a week. I'm pretty sure he'll want to buy one then

rr - Sounds good to me , though I'm not sure Martin would agree
(Last time he let me drive his car a deer ran into the road - not my fault , couldn't miss it, no damage to car, though, and it was in the days when he had a Saab , I'm sure they're designed for that )
The deer was very sorry though
I'd also read that the various PC wheels work, provided they are USB, and would therefore be good for Ridge Racer, Formula 1 etc. I don't know if they are any less good that the official wheel.
We obviously need two chaps to do some testing of official vs unofficial wheel to see if there is any noticeable difference - any volunteers

My understanding was that most of the wheels use the normal game port but the GT3 wheel was USB so would only work with games that can handle USB! Please correct me if I'm wrong.
There was a thread on here about wheels just after GT3 came out which said that some PC USB wheels work and some don't!
Anyone out there in the games trade who could help???
