Medical advise needed

My wife has been suffering with laryness and temper around a week before her periods are due. It stops the moment her period starts. We got four children so she has been pregnant for so many years, but I could always tell when she was, even before she did the test. Due to the laryness.
Trouble is it has got bad over the last few months, and it's doing my head in. She can't see it herself and sometimes is completely unreasonable. I thinking of just packing my stuff and leaving, but would miss the children.![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif)
I heard about the new pill injection that might stop her periods (which are so heavy it's unbelievable) and control her mood swings. She thinks it a load of bollocks.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated. HELP.
Many thanks Phill C

Stevecotton,
You've got to admit to a problem before you can go and see the doctor. I haven't got time to go myself. Our local GP aren't that good at the best of time. Not that understanding![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif)
Tim,
She tried evening primrose, witch hazel (is it), vitamins and all the crap. Isn't working.
Puff,
She won't have that, although I sure it would help her to relax with the kids.
Blubell,
Tried that for the last eight years, but she has become much more aggressive lately. To the point that sometimes I think she doing to smack me one.
DrEvil,
I asking a really serious question here!!!! But LOL anyway.
Help somebody please!!!
I have PPP health care and was thinking about giving them lot a ring, apparently they have councilors that can talk to her. She probably be lary about that![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif)
Cheers Phill C

Try the contraceptive injection it does work. Can cease periods if not too heavy!!! Also lessen mood swings.
Bad things are possible weight gaina dn headaches.
Talk to your GP first.

Babber,
Use your PPP cover if you can. They do have good people on the end of a phone to talk to if you need them. One of my staff used their counselling service when they became depressed over a medical condition. I am not sure how you would go about getting your wife's condition checked through PPP though, as whenever I have had to make a claim (very infrequently luckily
) I have had to go through my GP first. Try talking to the PPP contact you have first, with issues such as this they may have some alternative suggestions/options for obtaining treatment.
Best of luck

Babber,
I understand it's difficult but there really is nobody you can turn to apart from a qualified doctor. Giving advice on fixing someones car is one thing, but when a person is involved a great deal more care is needed. A doctor is the only way I'm afraid, especially when people start talking about medication!!
Steve.

My other half has a 3 monthly injection instead of taking the pill and it definately has improved her (and mine) quality of life - not that she was too bad anyway but I have seen a definate improvement.
If you want more details (name of drug etc) then let me know and I will find out.
This is the most serious topic I have seen on the board yet !

Babber,
Sorry mate.. but I know what you mean.. the problem is, until she admits to herself there is a problem and wants to do something about it, your hands are tied a bit..
Perhaps point things out to her as she does, or may a day or so after, when she is calmer.
Have you sat her down and talked to her about your concerns?
Alex

Phill,
This is only my thoughts and I'm in no way trained, but if i was in same position I would do the following:-
Speak to your own GP (not hers) about the problems and take his or her advice.
Speak to your wife about your concerns at a time when she is in a good frame of mind. You need to discuss just how serious it is from your point of view. There is no point raising the issue when she is at her worst as this will only have a negative effect.
Speak to someone from PPP and take their advice.
As you say, you will only resolve the problem once your wife accepts that there is one. If you can't talk to her about it when she is in a good mood, though, you got more to worry about in your relationship than this, imho.
Hormonal changes can have a huge effect on individuals and there are many answers out there, from drugs to change of diet. Do some research on the web and see what you come up with.
If her periods are that heavy, there may be other medical issues and there would be no harm in finding out about that as well.
Hope you get it sorted

Guys and girls,
Thanks for all the replies, it nice to talk to people about it that don't know me and her. I am concerned, so I will be contacting the PPP health care line tomorrow, and go and see the doctor.
I wasn't looking for a solution, just needed a bit of advise. I sorry it's a bit serious!!!
Thanks for all the advise and the emails I've had, I feel a hell of a lot better now. Lots to do though.
Cheers everyone Phill C
