I've got lace up Puma Sprints, they look cool, and are very comfy. Excellent for driving in too. Not too keen on the Nikes anymore, too 'chunky' ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

PS - I paid £60 for my Pumas

What, you'd seriously choose which pair of trainers to buy based on the views of others on this bulletin board?
Maybe it's just me, but I buy stuff because I want it or like it, not because someone else does. Quite frankly if someone doesn't like my trainers, that's their problem.
If you asked 'what car should I buy' and the majority of responses said Nissan Micra, would you buy it? I don't think so somehow.
Can't you toss a coin, or something?

Why pay anything?
From today's Guardian...
The real Plimsoll line
Oil slicks are so boring. If you're going to leave stuff floating in the sea, at least be original with the effluence. Drifting up the Pacific like a shoal of dead fish are more than 15,000 Nike laceless basketball shoes. These Nikes were washed overboard from a container ship en route from Los Angeles to Washington, and are now caught on a strong surface flow known as the Davidson current which is pushing them towards Alaska. In winter, this part of the ocean moves so fast that the shoes - covering 300m² - could travel 1,600 miles before they reach journey's end.
But it's not necessarily a bad thing. David Webb at the Southampton Oceanography Centre says that a whole ecosystem could build up beneath the footwear. "Sometimes these things have a use," he says. "Barnacles grow on them, as will seaweed, and fish will gather underneath. There could be a whole little community growing there." Usually, this sort of natural phenomenon occurs with logs or coconuts that have been swept out to sea. Although scientific studies have previously looked into the number of flipflops that have been lost to the tides, a flotilla of Nikes appears to be less of a field of academic interest.
For those who wish the shoes had fallen off the back of a lorry rather than from a container ship, their progress must be frustrating. Fifteen thousand Nikes is a dodgy dealer's dream ready for the taking, if you could get yourself to the Davidson current. It may be a better idea to await the Nikes' arrival onshore. On their current course they should eventually land near Anchorage. How to explain the barnacles if you're trying to pass them off as boxfresh goods? Just say they are part of some new suspension system. Weirder things have been known in the world of sports footwear.
