digital camera v Mini DV camcorder
#1
I am thinking about buying a digital camera, but would also like a camcorder.
I know the Sony Mini DV cameras can also take stills, so am i better off buying a digital camcorder and do both ??
Anyone got one of the mini DV cameras (JVC, Sony,....)

Got a JVC mini dv - I'm very happy with it and it does take good stills but you can't beat having a digital camera too - much easier to carry around and ours came with very easy to use software. Got both for the price of a Sony mini dv alone, around about £900.

Dave,
I recently had the same decision to make, in the end bought a Fujifil 6900Z still camera but you also have the ability to record video, time is dependant on the size of memory card fitted , i think a 64mb gives 13 mins. Picture quality from stills is excellent.

If you're looking to buy a DV camcorder soon and want to save yourself some money then let me know. I've got a JVC DVL109 which is totally as new which I bought at the start of the year, but haven't really found much use for it. I've got a few blank tapes, multimedia card, video editing software and a firewire card to go with it.
