Has anyone ever had a car stolen when it had a 'DISCLOCK' on?

self explanatory really...just wondering how good these disclocks are in relaity...they certainly look the part and the sales literature is pretty convincing.....I use one, but I often wonder whether a car thief could get around it easily if he really wanted to......any experiences..?

They are a good deterrant, but if they want it they will take it simple as that.

The more you put on your car to make it more of a pain for the thieves, the more likely they will go for another one instead.

Not fashionable anymore to steal a car without the keys, they now prefer to break into you house and take your keys,or carjack you while your out and about.

There is a tale going around of a guy that lost his key to his disc lock.

The fire brigade took a good few minutes to get it off, destroying it & part of the steering wheel in the process. And that was with their OTT hydraulic gear.

Not what your average pond life would be wandering around at night with.

Just as a visual deterrent it should make all but the very determined walk on by.

I have a pair of Cavalier Turbos (yeah flame me!) and in the past a couple of Cavalier GSi's, and not one was pinched with a Disklock on.

But its not just about the disklock, its all the other stuff you have on there as well.

Consider that a thief would have to bypass my deadlocks, my alarm and immobiliser, and then have to shift the disklock, thats a lot of time spent trying to pinch a car, and as your man has said already, there will be an easier less protected car around the corner so to speak.

I swear by them, but unfortunately, if they simply decide to lift my cars, then the disklock isn't much bloody use, but if you park sensibly, 'hopefully' you negate that.

No flames for owning Cav T's I would have got one when I had my GSI. But was worried about the Transfer Boxes always going. Alot of people on here had GSI's. Seems to be a popular move GSI to Scoob.

Disklocks.....sorry haven't a clue.

Nobody ever had a go at my Scoob and that wore it's Disclock whenever it was parked up.

ive had a disklock for 4 years but haven't used it for 2 my thinking is if they can get past a cat1 without the keys a disclock aint gonna stop them.the more you put on your car the more likely (if they want it) they will go for the keys, this means damage to your home or worse still you and your family ,its just the way of the scum im afraid

I use mine on both cars religiously - I always think that the more on, the less likely they'll want to try. Thats my theory anyway.
