Hi all

Im renting a flat in May and the lease agreement says I HAVE to have contents insurance that protects against accidental damage to my contents and the landlords property in this case wooden floors, curtains, lighting and white goods.

So any suggestions please?? Tried to use tesco, but the site seem s to be broken

cheers

Andy

Direct Line for me ....

there's usually a discount if you have car as well ... if you are with one of the bigger co's, that may be worth a few quid.

contents only should be less than 20/month

Try Schofields, they have a good deal with Zurich that undercuts most oif not all the competition.

Yes I work for Zurich.

Yep another vote for AMP (Pearl), they arent the cheapest but I always go with the big companies because they dont try and wriggle out of paying in the event of a claim.

I would avoid companies such as Tesco's and Direct Line, as many "cheap" insurers don't offer decent cover.. same old story, you get what you pay for I guess..

Tried to renew with DirectLine as they offered us a good price when we signed up with them a couple of years ago, but their renewal price was more than the online quote (we've had no claims or anything) and their customer service were very unhelpful about looking into it so we went with e-Sure in the end. Not had a claim, but the price was very good (buildings and contents) and 100 quid cheaper than DirectLine.

Thumbs up

Liverpool & Victoria. My premium halved and cover increased when I moved from Direct Line. A colleague at work enjoyed the same experience when I introduced him to L&V today. Super value for modded car insurance too as long as you're 30yrs+.

NU for me 40k cover less than a tenner/month.

I'm letting my property out unfurnished an am getting some quotes so I'll see how they turn out.

for me tesco/directline were pricey...

Halifax were very cheap and who I use, though I imagine I'll switch to Nationwide this year!
