mortgage multipliers

What loan to value do you need as most lenders will not require proof of income below 80%.
also there are a couple of lenders that will lend on afforability rather then multiples.

There was an article in yesterdays papers about this saying quite a few big lenders now do 5 times salary. I can't remember who I am afraid.
Personally I'd be very wary about getting a mortgage of this size in case rates increase again.

yes, northern rock do a few options (I appreciate they are only a northern company, but all mine done over the phone by a very friendly manager)....they are the only one I could find to give me what I needed.
I got a "together" one.....gave me 30k more than I could normally get
just got to find a way to pay it back now

3times - your gonna be know good to him with a username like that, he needs 5 times
fp2, depends on your circumstances, but I know what you mean overall. BUT what about some people who get large commission every month but banks etc won't take it into consideration, or say you have money tied up & don't want the hassle of having to use it as collateral....then a larger multiplier is useful (as in my case).
