Even in the bar section no weight.

can you not put 5kg a side and put on the scales vertically(if you own it)

Be carefull with the sand filled ones, put load of weights on the bar and it bends alarmingly.

Nah they are solid metal ones - hate the plastic/sand ones!

So what weight do you bench si and at what reps?

Simon.

i) Take the scales into the garage.
ii) Stand on the scales to weigh yourself
iii) Stand on the scales, holding the bar.
iv) Subtract ii) from iii).

(big head mode on

with full on flu (ie feeling like crap), I did 100kgs for 16 reps in good strict form last monday night .

Best this year, weight wise, was 140kgs x 6 reps, bestist ever was in 1998, 140 kgs x 7....so near yet so far lol!!

big head mode off/)

To look at me you'd never tell though!

ps sorry for the brag, but everyone on here seems to have A)a better scooby and/or B)a better house and/or C)a better job.

I had to beat someone on something lol

2003 - Squat 200kgs x 2 reps, Deadlift 220kgs x 2 reps
1998 - Squat 200kgs x ? reps, Deadlift 240kgs x 1 rep

Don't do push presses but do seated dumbell presses for shoulders, best of around 45kgs (each arm) for 8 reps.

Thing is though I'm not really into powerlifting as I want to get a good physique rather than be strong but my head goes when I get into the gym .

git 100kg in front, mind you deadlift is only 70. I can do 150kg 4 reps. Not hit my max yet.

As i go
100kg 10reps
120kg 6reps
130kg 4 reps
150kg 4 reps
120kg 6 reps
100kg reps

So at my peak im pretty fked

i only weigh 80kg though lol and got the age benfit

When i used to go to the Gym, I could Squat 180kg (on the smith's machine) for around 15-20 reps, never tried any more weight as I would probably **** myself! To look at me, I am a fat git as well!! I weigh around 100kg and have bodyfat rating of 13.9% It's just that the 13.9% seems to only be on my stomach!!!!

deffo not "lean" but not fat either, comfortable 34" waist at 5.8".

rag, smiths mchn is easier than free weights still good weights though especially at those reps.

aye I am getting on a bit at 28 but hey I still got upto another 10 years of gains...doubt I'll train consistently for ten years though ...if i'd kept up what I'd built in 1998, god knows??? ah well.

I've been gyming it for 10 years on and off, about 5 years in total...and it that time I've found that CONSISTENCY, DIET, INTENSITY are key.

The gym I went to was only small, and did not have any bars apart from on the smiths machine, so didn't have much choice!! Now given up as I could never get rid of my fat b4stard appearance! Tried changing diet, concentrating on fat burning b4 weights, but made absolutely no difference - as I beefed up, I looked fatter and fatter!

Hi Telboy,

I'm not sure if my form is to 'competition standard' cos tbh I dont know what the standard is but I do go to a good depth, more or less have my quads parallel to the floor...not **** touching my heels but deffo parallel. Slow on the way down, no pause as such at the bottom but deffo slow and controlled all the way down and blast it back up. I am told I have an unusually narrow stance for squatting too which apparently is why I have ok quad development?

Yes 2 reps if thats what you mean by double?

Most I've seen being squatted in a gym is about 220kgs in good form but they're deffo bigger and heavier than me.

just re-read my posts and let me clarify that all my weights quoted are INCLUDING the bar @ 20kgs!!!! ie 200kg squat was 180kgs in weights plus 20kg bar.
