Can you believe this
I live in a posh really nice town and two nights on the trot bad trouble
Tonight stood in the crown in marlow quietly having a drink the girl sat on the table next to us gets a face full of a pint (that covers us too!!!) and the guy storms out I dont want that sort of **** second night running It turns out the guy "beats her" but she was slow or p!ssed (hardish to tell but I dont want to judge) anyway the husband comes back to demand she goes home (she told us what would happen ) he goes away but comes back after closing time and finds us talking to her and starts being threatening again for the second night I found myself being aggresive towards another human being Everything he said was **** and he started threatening us We didnt listen and a barman had to escort my sister down marlow high street to collect her scoob and bring it to the back of the pub Yet again for the second night I have gone out for a beer with friends and ended up with conflict I am getting tired with this and am very sad and annoyed but I stood up to the bully and had a go I know I was stoopid and yet again shoud have got a slap but got away with it again but two nights on the trot I am due to celebrate my best friends birthday tomomorrow but not sure I want to go out with what's happened this week In the situation of a bully threatening you what would you have done? I told him what I thought and I got aggressive back but that's not me Please help because I am not happy and unsure about going down the pub after my two evenings out

That isn't good but it sounds to me that you're being unlucky enough to get caught in both incidents.
I think you should still go out, but stay with your mates, and if any trouble starts, then don't be the first to step in Sounds cowardly i know But it could save you a lot of headaches.
Like I said earlier, I just mind my own business now, cause I've had a few 'run-ins' after a few beers before and I hate trouble. I just want a laugh.
Go out, but play it safe dude
Hope that helps in some way or another

Paul, Marlow is a nice area, you must know that, think of all the times you go out and dont get into trouble, it can happen to anyone, and u was just unlucky to get a couple of doses close together, go out and enjoy yourself again, and forget about the hassle its not your problem and i'm sure that blokes who were causing hassle wont even remember you!!1
If you want real hassle go to Reading instead :0

Marlow - are you mad??? Stick to the safe areas like High Wycombe or Slough.
Seriously though, forget about it. Most blokes that like to bully women are cowards - sure, he may have been pretty mouthy but inside he was probably s###ting himself. People like that are absolute scum so yo did the right thing. Think how you would be feeling now if you had sat back and let him get on with it.

Dont be such a wimp
its life just accept it. I live in a nice area, but you take the bad with the good.
2 nights bad luck, so that'd mean the other 363 days are ok??

Happy memories of Marlow, I used to have the flat above what was then Toms Take away which I believe now is Pickfords Travel. Great location to live when I worked in Dean Street.
The Crown has always had something of a reputation, as did the Cross Keys many years ago, is it worth considering using another watering hole. The Red Lion at the end of Spittal Street always used to be my favourite haunt.

Feeling a bit fragile but hey who cares It's my fault I used to go to the red lion too (used to work in there too) but that's changed now. The cross keys is still trouble The crown now has (or did ) a good reputation. It's been done out and has been good for a year or so.

ey up Paul...
The loonies must be out on force in Marlow at the moment - had an 'incident' with a guy in one of the car parks recently...
This nobber nicked my car parking space after I was patiently waiting for it, so all I did was give him a look and a .
Now this middle aged, respectable looking chap, with his wife and kids in the car loses it BIG TIME... Mouthing off, hands gestures etc... So I drive off as my girlfriends in the car, and he gets out his car, chasing me up the road trying get into my car and pull me out!! WTF!!! Total nut case...
Be careful out there...

Sounds like just about any pub in the centre of Tunbridge Wells/South East on any Thursday/Friday/Saturday night. Reputations of how posh a town might be doesn't reflect on the ******* who drink in it.
The South is full of jumped up w@nkers. When I go and visit a mate in Sheffield I can go out any night and not come across any trouble and the atmosphere is always friendly. Obviously there are nasty spots but I'm talking comparing centre of town.
I find down here its all bad attitude and up norf its friendly **** taking and having a laugh, especially with the north/south accent/beer drinking thing
I find the only way to deal with w@nkers if they don't back down after you told them to chill out/you don't want any trouble is to stick up for yourself. If you get really nasty back in terms of aggressive tone of voice and language (depending on your size compared to theirs ) more often than not the cowards will run a mile at the fact somone has stood up to them and they might get hurt in any confrontation.
Has worked for me for the last 12 years and I have only been hit once, and then he regretted it afterwards
Small time drug dealers are normally the worst thinking they are mr big, plenty of them where I live, thinking they own the feking pub. You don't have to be a nasty piece of work yourself to show a little aggression at times when needed to protect yourself or get yourself out of a nasty situation. All depends on the situation at the time and numbers of people involved as to the reaction required etc.
<disclaimer - obviously don't try this tactic in Glasgow, you may get very hurt>

Paul, if its a bloke, say somthing along the lines of:
"back off while you still have the option pal" or if they're female:
"My dear, the things I could do to you with a wire coat hanger..."
Seriously mate, Dont worry aobut it. I get the same reaction when i go into a drum & bass room so it aint you.
astraboy.

I can't see what the problem is here.... you have gone beyond the call of duty twice for other people.... now sit back and reap your Kama!
You should never be afraid to go out and do the things you enjoy doing just because ofother people and thanks to you two people have been saved from being hospitalised or worse.
If it happens again, then it happens.... but statistically you should be good for a few years now!
