[SERIOUS RANT MODE ON]
Just had a parking ticket given to me cos I stopped in a loading zone outside the chemists. However I tried to explain (very difficult after 3 anasthetics) that I have just had serious dental surgery and I have blood pouring out my mouth (no exageration) and that I needed the swabs and pain killers from the chemist asap but she said tough luck, nothing I can do about that [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] She could see I was in agony and the blood pouring everywhere but couldn't give a **** and was basically smiling at me.
Traffic wardens wonder why they have such a bad reputation, she was a ******* heartless b!tch who if had been a bloke I might well have done something I would have later regretted [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] As it is a tore ar$e away from her and she will probably report me to the police for dangerous driving now. Plus I got done for 90 on the motorway yesterday so having a real bad couple of days. With the dentist saying im gonna be in serious pain in about 5 hours and then it will last about 5 days I just want the ground to feking swallow me up for good!![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
[SERIOUS RANT MODE OFF]
I dont expect replies, I just wanted to get it off my chest as I'm seriously stressed and can't smoke or have beer![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
p.s. any good advice how to stop bleeding from a huge hole in your mouth? Swabs dont seem to be working

This does come up from time to time.
At the end of the day, they do only have a job to do, and i think we'd all hate city driving even more if they didn't exist.
In your circmstance, i'd march back into the dentist asking why the hell you were allowed to leave in such a state?? Surely something was wrong there, no??

Hi Telboy, the surgery I had was the removal of a tooth that went wrong basically, its a tooth that was huge beyond belief and couldnt fit through the hole in my gum. It also took a small part of jaw bone with it when it did come away
It took ages, lots of injections, he also had to do a fair bit of cutting into the gum and plenty of stitches.
He told me to expect lots of pain and blood, especially for the first few hours with the blood thing. I hate blood and its doing my head seeing it come out my mouth![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Its the last time I ever have any voluntary surgery. Id rather have fooked teeth than go thru that again.
Traffic warden was smug, I wasn't blocking anyone out and there was loads of loading spaces, I was 2 mins getting the pain killers and for once she could have been lenient due to the fact she could see blood dripping out my mouth and how much pain I was in ffs [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] What she expect me to do, park miles away and walk through town spitting/dripping blood on everyone!
Also how much are parking tickets as I have never had one. And whats the damage im looking at for getting done yesterday with a mobile speed camera pointing at me with an indicated 90 on the clock down a very steep hill on a dual carriageway? 3 points and a fine or more serious than that?

just keep the swabs on it, it will clot eventually.
I can personally recommend you don't try the following:
1) rinsing with scotch for "medicinal" value
2) going clay pigeon shooting the day after

LOL @ AJM, believe me I want a lot more than a glass of scotch! Anyone got any spare morphine?
I think the piece of jaw bone coming away is gonna be the cause of most of the pain
All I got is bloody Ibruprofen which I don't reckon are gonna help at all

B2O, am sure you can appeal it, with a dentist's report to back you up. Can you also get the pharmacist who served you as a witness to show you were bleeding?
Not sure if you can also get the press involved, but only if you are sure you are in the right. Tearing off is understandable but might have tainted your case a little...
To help the blood clot, I remember the trick about putting pepper on a shaving cut - it's basically an organic absorbent powder. Not sure if a mouth full of pepper is a good idea, but, umm, flour?
Good luck mate
Brendan

Cheers Brendan
I could appeal and might do but knowing what a bunch of to$$ers they are I doubt they will listen. Can get the dentist to back me up but the Chemist wont be able to help as I had a hankey stuck over my gob at the time as I didnt want to bleed all over his floor lol
It just would have showed a little common sense for her to see that I had realy no choice but to get my treatment asap as dentist had told me to for a start and not to drive about lots or walk anywhere. I had to have 3 anasthetics insteadf of one cos thats how bad it got LOL
Wish he had given me a general now instead ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Wont try the pepper or flour if its all the same to you
but thanks for the suggestion, I'll stick to chewing on these swabs all day. Got to pick my son up from school later, will be fun standing in the playground waiting for him looking like this thats for sure, try and scare a few kids LOL

******* hell Bob! You got some weird *** teeth here mate!
TB - you a closet traffic warden fan?
OK they ARE doing thier job, but do they really have to be so stuck up and pompus about it. Most, not all, are power hungry people who were probably bullied at school and are now taking it out on everyone because they have 'power'
Reminds me of a scene from Lock, Stock, and Two smoking Barrels![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Knock him out, don't touch him up!

Cheers Aaron, might just do the appeal thing as Im gonna be coughing up for the speed ticket so need my cash ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Markus, yep it was a messed up tooth, looked like the totth was missing but it was actually high up in the gum. Problem was that the top end of the tooth was so bloody huge and wide it couldn't come out the jaw socket or through the whole in my gum, therefore when he gave it the final tug it took some of the jaw with it and ripped a **** of huge hole in my gum which had to be stitched up. Problem is the bleeding, the anasthetic is starting to wear off but I have a cheek bone that looks like a ping pong ball, just hope thats the ansthetic thats done that and not a huge clot of blood
Stopping now before I get paranoid

Just drinking water without spilling it all down my front is a challenge![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
He has given me 600mg tablets of ibruprofen to take. Arnt these just headache tablets or is it the amount in tablet size that will matter? Thought I could have got something a bit better. Think I have some pain killers in the cupboard left over from glandula fever when I was very ill and they are apparently one level down from morphine
Might have a look at them later depending how much of a baby I get. Knew I might need them one day

appeal the speed ticket on the grounds you were in so much pain from toothache that you were either temporarily spasmodic on the accelorator or racing to the chemist for pain killers ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
traffic wardens are just doing a job, sometimes a too well - if they had a brain they'd probably do a different job, and the ones that did have a brain have had it numbed by the triviality of the job.
Main problem is too many yellow lines.

Dizzy believe me I was very tempted to go over the top, instead opened my car door, threw the phone hard across the passenger seat, tore the ticket off the screen while saying she was taking the p!ss and drove off at high revs, no bloody wheel spin tho so most disappointed ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
As I said if it had been a bloke I would have been a lot more confrotational, guaranteed. No matter how mad I get I don't pick fights with women even if she really was provoking me with being out of order. I had to walk away otherwise I would have got more wound up arguing about it.

LOL mwp, unfortunately I need a time machine to back it up as I got caught speeding yesterday, all due to the fact I was thinking about the bloody dentist today (and possiblly the fact I was on the way to see my gf
) and not watching the speedo creep up going down a bloody steep hill.
I know traffic wardens have a job to do but I thought she was taking the p!ss by not letting someone off who was walking out the chemists shop right next to the car, with blood every where and in pain and saying I had to park there cos I needed the stuff urgently. Even the old biddies in the bus stop oppopsite couldn't believe it. Also I wouldn't have argued if I had caused any problems with traffic but the road was quiet and there were loads of parking spaces for unloading. She just wanted to stick a ticket on my scooby for the sake of it, trumped up little witch that she was.

got done on a single yellow...no parking spaces anywhere and every street had yellow lines
I just said to the pompous ****** that I viewed a ticket as a cost of coming into town and I'd rather pay a fine than park at the top floor of the multi-storey (obviously I was pissed off but I wasn't gonna show him)
He was a bit miffed....I think they expect to get grief or people grovelling.........**** em is how I view it....
Funny thing was that some lads in a Nova who I'd normally view with suspicion stopped and called the Warden a fecking ******....now that was funny I can tell you
As I got into the car I said "do you want a kleenex?" stupid ****!!

Sounds like she hadnt caught enough people that day and needed to make the numbers up [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
Telboy, a lot of the time traffic wardens issuing tickets has nothing to do with not having consideration for other road users. They issue them for fun, and you know it.
Bravo, give them hell. Stuck up ponces [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Unfortunately Paul she had slapped the ticket on the windscreen just as I walked out the chemists. My attitude to traffic wardens has now deteorated massively, until now I had never given them any abuse. From now on they are at the bottom of the pile as the lowest of the low in terms of profession. Words will fly when I see them around town in future. W@NKERS the lot of em [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

tbh you weren't causing a hold up, you weren't parked in a disabled space and you weren't on double yellows (which incidently are only used for safety reasons in my borough ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
) so def. appeal. The wording of the Traffic Reg. Orders are critical, "loading" can mean pretty much anything, I'd say it was obvious you were in pain, and they are ment to use their own descresion so it's worth a try ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Over here 60% of appeals are sucessful IIRC, only trouble is not many people appeal because of the time factor, i.e. its costs £20 if you pay it immediatly or £40 after 14 days![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Traffic wardens do an important job - keeping the roads safe for regular users, but in this instance you weren't causing a problem (stopped for 2 minutes) and this one sounds like a muppet.

Cheers Jen, if its only £20 then I will pay it and then hurl abuse at the scum bags every opportunity I get. Spose it had to happen one day, first parking ticket in 12 years ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Just stypical I get a speeding one the day beforehand as well.
Complete opposite week to what I had last week when I got a new job and gf

I don't wish to sound like a some sort of ponce here, cos i hate parking tickets as much as anyone else, but there's no way thay *can* issue them "for fun".
If a car isn't parked illegally, they can't ticket it.
How can they realistically be expected to show "compassion"? If they started taking mitigating circumstances into consideration, they would open themselves up to all sorts of (further) abuse. As it is, they ticket what they see, and let the appeals guys sort out the genuine emergencies, such as this one, which i hope they relent on Bravo.
My opinions on this stem from my experiences of the road that i live on, where at one end there is a convenience store, and opposite an off licence. The amount of arrogant, couldn't-give-a-toss parking you see there is truly repugnant. If i was waiting for an emergency service, and they couldn't get through, as is often the case for cars, let alone fire engines etc, who could i blame - all the people who think traffic wardens should be more considerate?? No, of course not.
This counry needs a re-think of its attitudes to live and let die parking that we currently have to endure, imho.

Telboy - You used to get some tolerance and a bit of give and take with traffic wardens, now they are paid on results to boost the local governments or treasuries coffers, it is not in theirs or their employes best interests to show compassion or tolerance it is down to cold hard cash and how to extract it from motorists who have no choice but to pay.
With the increase in traffic wardens and yellow lines pay and display parking there are far less places to park than there used to be - dress it up as much as you want saying that it is to improve traffic flow or saftey reasons or wahtever the council wins!
As for the wardens themselves - It is a **** job with few rewards and i would rather shovel **** or than do it myself.
