Question

Anyone on here used/has got one of these and can comment on whether they are any good or not?

Thanks

I've got a GPS III and it works really well, similar in shape got it off ebay, worth getting the car/pc lead as the back light is hungry on the batteries

Cool

I've had mine for a year now and would be lost without it. A mate that I showed it to the other week's gone and bought one from here: http://www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/viewprod.php?product_id=59

Only thing I wished it did was to have the gatso database in it too!

I have the Garmin EMAP.
It's great, I use it in the car, on the mountainbike, on the motorbike, on foot, I even once used it in a flight on the way to Sweden and managed to get it to log a max speed of 560mph!!

Thumbs up

I've got one - had it for about a year. As it happens, I've just written a long review for the website I bought it from.

Anyway, I'm very pleased with it - it's superb. If you buy it now, you get a 128Mb memory card & the whole of the European map unlocked for free too - I only got 32Mb & the UK with mine (18 months ago).

For those who've already got one, make sure you've upgraded the unit's software to v2.40 which fixes a couple of problems and adds 'via' points to the route functionality too.

Wink

Mark, don't know if you spotted a new 'bug' that crept in on the latest software? Before, you could be parked up and hit enter to put that exact location in the memory. Now that doesn't work, but I found a fix, simply use the cursor and just move it a nano tad and then hit enter and it works. Wierd or what? Anyway, it's still fabulotastic and wished I'd got the whole of Europe's unlock codes, bah!

:-)

Cool

Haven't found the bug 'cos I've not uploaded the new software - I don't have a PC with a serial port to hand.

It is a shame that a year after I bought mine with just an unlock code for the UK and a 32Mb card, you can now buy it for the same price with a 128Mb card and unlock codes for the whole of Europe.

I know what you mean! I got a 128Mb card off eBay for £110 which fits in the whole of the UK and Ireland. I'm trying to find an updated map on there too, they come up every so often.
