Seems that a large number of well alarmed /trackered etc cars are been stolen. Anyone heard of "Info" been sold/passed on about what security and where it is fitted etc. heard of a device that can be fitted at the time of an alarm/tracker etc been fitted. That from a simple remote will disarm all security.Very hard to find but cheap and easy to fit.
The better quality thieves dont want any problems or damage. This relationship with fitters or access to the info makes life easier for them.

A relative of mine is a Prison Officer and has quite a few pro car thieves as guests. They reckon the best detterent is a home-made, hidden ignition kill switch, it just takes too long to locate and disarm.

I do believe what I have been told.
Same as when fitters where fitting electric timers to shut things down on boilers etc just after the 1 year..so they could get more work.Alarm fitters do it also.
A friend of mine ....to make sure he gets paid fits a 30 day timer to his systems. No pay.......thing stops working. gets paid. "Visits to check system" and turns timer of.
And when the RAC ,AA guys would show details of their "magic Book" (Some of th einfo is on Computer) on how to get around some car security.
Its going on.

Another classic one is the relationship between telling a tyre-fitter where you keep your locking wheel nut key and your alloys being nicked a week later. The truth is out there chaps ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
(Incedently I know some particularly trustworthy tyre-fitters. I'll put my tar-stained brush down now
