car damaged in fire.

my car was recently damaged in a fire at our work. debris falling from the roof.
i've been told that i should claim through my insurance as normal but give my insurance my work place insurance details.
is this correct or should i be claiming directly off my work's insurance???

last year my car was written off when the building i parked next to caught fire and collapsed on my car, and burned it out and 20 others.
it was a battle to get the money from the insruace at first because they said it was accidental damage! it said it was fire damage, had to get the supervisor involved, it took a couple of weeks, but got paid out for it in the end....
