I just bought a Polar heart rate monitor and the maintenance booklet says to send it back to

Polar Service Department,
c/o Leisure Systems International Ltd,
Northfield Road,
Southam,
Warwickshire,
CV47 ORD.

The website is www.polar-uk.com

The watch takes a standard CR type thin battery. If you've got a watchmaker's screwdriver set, it's a piece of **** to change. Just make sure the seal is seated correctly when you put the cover back on.

The sensor is a sealed unit with no serviceable parts inside. You can get them at John Lewis for around £20.

Cheers
