Who Wants to be a Millionaire? cheat Major Charles Ingram and his accomplice wife will star in a wife-swap TV show with Big Brother's Jade Goody.
The couple, who were convicted of cheating their way to the show's top prize last month, are to appear in Channel 4's Celebrity Wife Swap with Jade and her presenter partner.
Are tv companies allowed to pay convicted criminals,i thought there were guidelines against this sort of thing.

I thought the deal was that now people convicted of a crime could not make money from their criminal activity.
My understanding of that is that the Ingrams could not, for example, write a book about the caughing incident and rake in loads of cash. But they could go on a talk show and talk about gardening as it doesnt relate to their crime.
May be wrong, but thats how I thought it was.
The grey area that I dont quite understand if I am right is that in such an example, these people would not be house hold names and hence would not get opportunities to be on TV or anything, had they not commited the crime in the first place.
As such, indirectly they are actually making money from their criminal activity.
Now I'm confused

have always wondered why those who have shown themselves to be of poor character seem to get offered all these lucrative jobs in the entertainment industry.
