And there isn't a single cloud over the whole planet.

It may be real, loads of small photos photoshopped together, but I've seen it on a big poster (Planetarium) and wasn't convinced.

Still a nice picture though

PMSL @ me, do you know i didnt even think about the whole world being dark at once. How about it was at the time of an eclipse ? then it would all be dark, and lights would of gone on would it not. ?

Cool

Have a look at the website noted in the bottom left of the picture

The image above is a composite of thousands of images of earth taken at different times on different missions.

Have followed some of the links and found a few piccies of my part of the world taken on the rare days that there is both no or little cloud and a space shuttle overhead !

Not yet.

Why not stand outside and wave your jacket over your head and shout out "Yooooooo hooooooo - Helllllooooo"

That should do the trick

Cool

That's a great pic - amazing amount of light pollution

Interesting to see the way that Russia is split & how other populations seem to spread along rivers (Nile/Amazon)

Cool

Dan IIRC there are more pubs and shops in Port Stanley than people, but the place still has its fair shares of young ladies ready to do you a favour
