theres a bloke down the road who is always racing around in his Volvo C70 T5...drives like a **** everywhere. I came up behind him the other day in the and he took of like i was gonna jack him! must have done 60+ down the narrow residential road we were on.

i thought it might have been the thought of a race but my wife tells me she saw him do the same when she was walking the kids to school...just racing around beeping people that where in his way (ie- only doing 40 in the 30)

anyway.....aside from knocking on his door and tackiling him head on is there a way the police can be involved? if we call the local cops and say this chaps a ****, go slap him...will they? or will they want statements and turn into into a big hoohaa. im sure if a cop turned up at my house and said "there have been complaints..." i'd slow down (not that i need that advice!)

so wahts the score? do the cops care or has he got to pass a camera van before they will act?

well in that case, give us all the info, reg no, paint colour etc, and we'll ALL say we've seen him (in different places, and diff times) driving like a ****.

i'm sure 50 odd reports from diff places should provoke a reaction from plod....

i'm up for it.

Near our old house they built a new estate at the end of a quiet road, modern 'Executive Style' houses sqeeezed in together, loads of nice motors, Esprit V8, Escort Cosworth etc, guy in a BMW coupe (328) used to blast down the road past my house, it was a side road but fairly straight and wider than normal, I estimate one day that he hit 80 in a 30 because he was almost flat in third the dick, made a mental note to have a word when I saw him but he did the same again whilst I was getting the baby out of the car, not 2 feet from my backside, he came back soon as he was only going to get a paper, comes back at the same speed so I steam round and give him a talking to, suffice to say I get told to f*ck off and that I am a turd, also how I was going to get a pasting, even though I had been quite nice. Anyway, he makes a point of going even faster past my house, really winding it up to wind me up.

I get sick of this and ask at work (I work for Plod) if somebody would have a quiet word with him, they do and he comes round to give me some stick (I had warned him I was going to do this), we almost come to blows (I could have murdered the little turd without breaking a sweat) but given my position, not a good move. Anyway he goes away, it goes quiet for a few weeks until I was washing the car and he swerves at me to give me a fright (which it did), I had enough at this point and it was really causing me concern so I had another word at work and gave them his approximate times of leaving and arriving so for a couple of days they set up a traffic bobby hidden with a radar gun, they get him on the third day at an indicated 62 mph, he gets banned......

He moves house, job done.

if you make it an complaint for dangerous driving, the police have to follow it up. Thats how i got the **** that tried to burn me on an insurance claim.

Unfortunately, phoning plod doesn't always work: Unless you work for them....: )
I once phoned plod to complain that there were 2 t*ssers racing each other up and down the road where I live, which is residential, and always full of kids. I was told there was no-one available, but someone "might" be able to look at it in about 45 minutes.:
I said not to bother, I'd stop him myself. I was told not to, but said, "if you can't/won't, I will!"
I went and reversed my car out, and "stalled" it, across the road, blocking the road. I got out and lifted the bonnet, and waited for the 2 tw@ts to come back.

Imagine my surprise when the tw@ts that turned up were in a police car? [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
