A mate stayed over last night and this afternoon tells me he fell asleep and spilt 1/2 a glass of red wine down the side of my cream sofa.

He got some of it out, but its now dry. What can i used to get the stain out ? Can I use white wine if the stain is dry ?

i saw my neighbour spill red wine on his cream settee (leather), so his wife drowned it in white wine and then mopped it all up.

i kid you not...

they are now on the lookout for another settee though.

The white wine/salt thing does work as i have done it on the carpet, but you have to do it straight away after the spill.

I am prob going to try a couple of things and then call in the Professionals.

Try the vanish oxypowder stuff (if it doesn't work at around £4 must be worth a try) - I used this on my wifes white trousers which had brown "leather-type" laces around the bottom, took out the die from the leather and replaced it on the white trousers (still, it got out the original stain!)
