I'm with Barclays currently but don't use them for a credit card as they were too expensive. Think I might reverse that desicion ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
LOL at parents idea, if they even get a sniff of the idea of me wanting another bike on top of the one I have I'll be disowned for life![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
So back to the Barclay card thing, as this is for a private sale how do I get the 4.5k off my existing card? And from what you are saying I can then take out a Barclay card and transfer the lot and have 0% interest??? Excellent!![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
So if I can't pay 4.5k in a private sale through cash or bank transfer on the card, I need to find a m8 with a company that takes credit cards, pay him the 4.5k on the card, then get the company to pay cash for the bike and give it straight to me as I have already paid for it???

![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Whats the best place for a 4.5k loan with no penalties for paying it off early? Probably for a 3 or 5 year term and no long winded application process, need the cash asap. (for a 2nd motorbike
)
Was gonna go to my bank Monday morning but then thought I'd check here first

Go to a branch of Barclays. they are doing 0% on the life of a balance transfer providing you spend a miniumum of £1 per month on the card. You can do a balance transfer to your bank account.
You need to get the form from a branch or I believe there is one in FHM this month

Nah! You can do the balance transfer to your currwent account. So providing barclays give you a credit limit of 4.5K plus you just transfer it to your current account.........then write a cheque! ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Just make sure you get the correct form!! as they are doing a couple of 0% offers (but some are only for 6 months)

with the 0% for life be careful.
set up a monthly payment for as little as possible from that card, then cut it up (maybe sponsor a dog from www.sponsoradog.co.uk, just a £1 a month, it's a good cause and you'll be getting the best from your card. otherwise you'll end up using it and the new transactions will be paid off last meaning they are being charged at a high APR (17.9 i think).

As I said it's not on their web site. You need to go into a branch and get a form to apply. My card is arriving this week. I'm setting up a donation to the NSPCC for £1 a month to be taken off the card.
Read all about it here

I'm confused about this Barclay card thing.
STi wanna Subaru said
Is the balance transfer not the other way...ie. you transfer a debt to the Barclay card?...otherwise it's a purchase and subject to interest?

From what I can understand if you put on the form that the debt you are transfering is from your current account then they treat it as a balance transfer and the money is paid into your current account. I'm no expert but that's how I understand it. Check out the link above.
Failing that you could just pay for it on one card and then transfer that balance to your new Barclay card........just make sure you have been approved first

Cheers I'll try and get down to the bank at lunch time but i'm not so sure I can do credit transfers on a cc as I have asked before and they have said no ![Confused](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/confused.gif)
The Northern Rock loan only works out at £88 a month and about £700 interest where as Barclays were like £200 a month and £2000 interest

AR$E only been in my job 2 months which looks like its going to make it impossible to get a loan [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] Anyone know of loan companies that don't require you to have stayed in one job your entire life? ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Will have to go and investigate the credit card thing now.
