Have to agree with Tiggs....
You have to drive properly to pass....
Passed mine 20years ago (god I feel old now
) did it without any "slip-ups" no problems.
Perhaps you are a "woman discriminate" and they are just doing their jobs?
You are going to be put in charge of approx 1 ton of weapon, and you think they should just hand it to you......
Sheeesh.... the youth of today (OK now I know I feel old
)

Good luck chaos.
I'm 19 so took my test (tests rather - 4 of em
) a couple of years ago. I think it's amazing they think it's an adequate method of assessing driver ability. From having seen the varying quality of driving of my friends immediately after passing, they might as well issue licences randomly. I've seen terrible drivers pass 1st time, a very good one pass 5th time. IMHO they follow the guidlines too strictly, an experienced examiner should be able to tell easily if someone is good enoguh to have a licence, and not allow people through who are lucky enough to not have any major mishaps (or 15 minor ones
) but are just not competant drivers. The majority of my peers crashed a car within their first year driving, I'd say 1st time passers crashed more in fact.
The sorry tale of all my tests is in this thread. To update it, I've got my own Impreza 1.6GL and have driven it for 18 months and 10000 miles without mishap. Did Pass Plus and am doing IAMs driver training, worthwhile to gain experience with someone to point out where you're going wrong, and makes the insurance bill a bit more accessible.
Believe me, I know how annoying it is to keep having to shell out for extra tests and be put on another 8 week waiting list, but if you're good enough you'll pass soon enough.
When you do, do a good few hours driving on your own (without mates to impress) so you get used to being without someone pointing out your faults. Don't push yourself beyond your limits, one mistake could cost a lot.
It is all worthwhile in the end, you won't know how you lived without the freedom. Make sure your wallet is ready to cope!
Best of luck, let us know how you get on.

Yep, My 3rd fekin test is in the morning .. and I aint looking forward to them saying Ive failed again .... And if I get another fat middle aged male discriminate woman who has obviously never had sex before, I will go mad. Ive wasted enough money on these tests and I've got that bad feeling, Ill probably hit a curb doing a left hand turn or something just as silly.. For my past 2 I've had 2 fat woman with more facial hair than any dog clearly against male drivers and thrive off failing them (us!!) and passing them of the fairer sex suprisingly soon pluss my test being at 8.30 am aint gunna help my situation much either
If there are any worthless examineres reading this, dont dare fail me cuz I'm gunna go crazy..
over n out..

"whats the fat women got to do with it...you fail as you cant pass the test. "
Its not that they are fat its the fact that they are male discriminate that p's me off. I have no idea when you took your test but I'm guessing it's when you could hit several curbs, jump red lights, do somersaults and still pass. Its not like that now mate..

Chaos: so you think you can drive, eh? Well, OK, I don't dispute it, BUT......if so, you'll know if you make a mistake on the test.
Now, they can't fail you for NO mistakes, but they CAN fail you if you make mistakes.......so if you KNOW you did summat wrong, SAY SO, and ask for another chance to do it again, and get it right. If you just sit there, and say nowt, they'll think that YOU think it was OK.....You fail again.

Basically they're looking to see if you're safe or not. If your mistakes are things like hitting the kerb, it sounds like you're completely out of control of the vehicle and likely to mow down a bus queue of pedestrians. If your driving is generally sound and you're not going to cause a menace on the roads, you'll get through.
With your attitude it sounds like the rest of us are safe while you haven't got a licence.

I hit the kerb when turning Right out of a side road on my test, let loose with a few choice words turning the air a bit blue and the examiner looked over and said carry on.
Got to the test centre at the end of the test and he said " I know you hit the kerb earlier, however due the cars parking on corners and a tight turn I'll let you off seeing as you acknowledged and knew you had made the error"![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

On my test, I hit the kerb slightly pulling out of a side road. The examiner apologised for taking me down the road in question (road was only just wide enough for the car - a metro btw!) as it was probably not the appropriate road to go down and hardly representative.
Passed anyway

I failed
The examiner seem to be an all right bloke but in his opinion I messed up quite a busy junction. Red lights changed on a pedestrian crossing to flashing amber, I'd been waiting to go for quite a while and saw a break with a white escort coming (could have easily made it) but the guy used the duel control to break the car as he didnt think it was safe, imo it was questionable but I cant change the decision.. So Ive got to wait till september and fork the best part of 100 quid to take another.. 4th time lucky eh .. ??
