what is it with people?
my scoob is parked in our small drive to keep it off the road in an attempt to keep it safe (it's my pride and joy)
one of our neighbours has a daughter who has a boyfriend who constantly parks half way across the drive
the whole street is there to park on, but no the dimwit with the knuckles dragging on the floor has to park halfway accross the drive
so today i'm on the way home from work and the g/f phones me to say that something is gonna wind me up when i get home, sure enough there is the dopey c*%t has done it again, so i march straight up to the house and end up having to have a row with:
1. the daughters boyfriend
2. the daughter
3. the mum
4. the dad
5. the other daughter
i wasn't backing down, they don't park accross anyone else's drive so i just stood up for myself and plainly insulted the intelligence of all of them. and after all that - he moved the car! why put it there in the first place.
what can i do about this though? i live on a road where i don't need a crossover because the curbs are literally 1 inch high - no-one else has a crossover to their drive.
i shall be doing the same 2moro if i have to as well. wish me luck - i'm gonna end up lamping one of them and having to take all the pikey b@st@rds on.....should be fun!

you just said the "p" word
If they are as "p" as you say, I would leave it at that, and see what happens.
Falling out with your neighbours is ok, just not if their pikeys.
They might tarmac your drive as revenge...
..... with the scoob still on it

yeah there were a couple of polite "do you mind"'s even though we've never been "friendly neighbours"
then i tried a couple of notes on the windscreen
then i couldn't help myself and started getting really sarcastic with them
i'm not a troublemaker but i had enough of these people

Oh dear m8, if ur kerb isn't dropped u CANNOT cross the pavement to put ur car on the drive, if the council take a piccy they can start court proceedings on u to pay for it to be dropped, its about £400 round our way, as its against the law to drive over a pavement that hasn't been lowered correctly.
Bummer i know, but he is allowed to park there as long as the car is legal on the road.
Not what u wanna hear, sorry m8

dazza,
why did you have to come up with something clever and technically accurate like that???![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
i did kinda know that but like i said the **** doesn't park over anyone else's drive and they've not got x-overs either
my girlfriend has just put it down to jealousy (the scoob against their bangers)
is it really only £400 to get the curb dropped? i might look into it then but i just feel like they unreasonable people have won, all he has to do is park 3 or 4 feet further away
my blood is starting to boil again just thinking about the row earlier (f*&king ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)

We have a similar situation in our street not with the kerb though just the idiot who lives next door (the son) and when we asked him to moth it for the 7th time in a week, got the reply "why?" boy does it make your blood boil!

The £25 car idea reminds me of something which adds another nice twist to the same idea and will hopefully make you smile as well.
A few years ago my then boss in his late 40's was married to a 21 year old Swedish bird (yes she was very attractive). He sold Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Anyway his wife went off and left him for a younger model. So my boss went out and bought the cheapest and tattiest Silver Shadow he could find, parked it bang accross his ex-wife's and boyfriend's drive and did various trhings to it to make it a right b****er to shift.
So ex-wife calls the police to complain someone has dumped a Rolls-Royce blocking her drive (hoping ex-husband will get into trouble). Police ask for reg no of car etc and after a few mins a puzzled policeman come back and says "Sorry Madam but that car appears to be registered to you at that address"
So the moral is if you buy the banger to park accross his drive register in his name as well.
Not that I am advocating you do anything like that of course......

You don't need to get the council to lower your kerbs, you just need their permission and approval afterwards. Simply lowering kerbs and re-tarmacing should be no more than £150. Contact a local company that does driveways, they should know the score anyway. We had ours done in with the driveway, but it only cost us £10 for the council bod to come out & do his rubber stamping. Same guys did a neighbors kerbs while he was on with mine and charged him £130.

We have a similar problem on our shared driveway. ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
There's a patch which should be kept clear for joint access to two properties (including ours). The neighbour I'm unlucky enough to share with doesn't understand the inconvenience of letting his guests park on it, completely barring access to my driveway & garage.
I'm a little tired of asking them to move. Permission to access my own property, from those ignorant b*st*rds?
There have been some words exchanged...And they have received a letter, threatening legal action too. [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
So glad my old man is a copper - always one for good advice.![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'm also considering the "buying a cheap sh1tter" option and reversing at full pelt out of my garage into the offending vehicle. "Sorry, throttle stuck and the brakes aren't very good" - It's off road, so what can they do? Doesn't even need an MOT.![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
mj - good question.
I'll have to ask my old fella, (Copper) he may know. My situation is slightly different to micaAB's as my problem is off road on private (albeit shared) land.
Therefore, as far as I see it on private land, I can have a non-MOT'd, un-insured, un-taxed vehicle, as long as it has a SORN document.
How would the unfortunate idiot claim, and what charges could be brought against me if I accidently lost control of this vehicle and struck his on said land?![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
