There's a B&B in Croftamie, a village about 10 mins drive from Balloch (bottom of Loch Lomond) - I only know it's there 'cos it's near where we keep our boat, so couldn't comment on how good it is!

Have fun!

Found the details on the net:

Try Nagoya House @ Bowness(do a search)
Remember that Windermere is not on the lake Bowness is.
Good food and ale in the Lakes

Arrochar Hotel, Arrochar - about 12 miles from Loch Lomond and right on the banks of Long Loch. Superb hotel, stayed there many times. Loch is literally over the small lane outside the car park. Oban, Pitlochry and Lomond area all easy to get to and fantastic scenery/roads.

Yep Bowness is where it all happens, if you want to be close to the lake, although Windermere is only 1/2 mile away, Nagoya as mentioned is very nice, speak to Jennifer, also Rose Villa (Jane) or May Cottage on Kendal Road are good too, depends what you want really.

Pubs? Try Hole int Wall, Bodega's/Sol Bar, Royal Oak, Albert, Stags.

After 11, Stags, or the Wheelhouse (good luck it can get messy in there on sat night if you can get in but it's a good crack)

Restaurants? Jacksons (recommended, mates the head chef!), The Porthole, Messina's, Rastellis, Postillion to name a few, all very good, loads of chinese's and a couple of indians.

All the guest houses and pubs mentioned are 500 yards away from my house (no wonder I'm gaining weight!)

Edited to add pub guide

I stayed in a top little B&B in Bowness, I'll have to dig out the link.. can't for the life of me remember what it was called

No such luck, can't find it.
From memory Oakland lodge rings a bell, almost opposite the beatrix potter museum up the hill on the other side of road.
Anyone from them there parts know what I'm wittering on about?

Andy

Whhaaaayy that's the one, lovely place and lovely hosts.
wonder if he's still got the Cherokee jeep.
