Driving Age Limit?
#1
I am slowly approaching the age where I believe I should be allowed to drive (17) but I have been told the government are going to increase the limit to 18, so that anybody born before August 31st 1987 can drive at 17 and those after will have to wait to they are 18. Does anybody know the truth in this story/rumour?

I wouldn't worry about it, that rumour has been around forever, I got it all last year from my mates and it never happened. If the government decides to change it they will tell everyone but it wont happen before you're 17.

I woudn't put anything past this lot.
But I would have thought it better to lower the age , so they can catch more people for speeding!

Unless you have a disability of course, then I believe you can drive at 16.
Indeed you can.
A person in receipt of the higher rate of disability living allowance may apply for a licence (Group 1 category B) from age 16, instead of the usual lower age limit of 17.
