Just bought a chair for my desk at home from Homebase. Now, the RRP of this is £99.99. I have just bought it for half price, and seeing as though it is 10 % day, got another £5 off it ![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)
It makes you wonder how much mark up shops like this put on when they can sell it for £45 and still (I would imagine) make a profit.
That's that off my chest![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I used to run a bar. You don't want to know the mark up on booze. Even more on soft drinks. For example a 'mixer' such as orange juice, tonic etc cost around 4p a bottle and sell for a pound ![EEK!](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)

Vinegar (and I mean Malt, not Tescos own label Wine) and Vimto Pop are amongst the highest marked up items on foodstuffs

My mate is manager of a 'crap' jewellery shop.
Everything they sell is between 15x and 500x marked up.
A battery watch is a fiver. They get them for just over 1p each.
Bargain.

it is rumoured that the b&qs and homebases of this world sneak they're prices up before having a sale and then advertise everything as discounted - which is probably the price that it was before.
