Its finally time to turn my front living room into the much talked about Cinema, so with that in mind
Anyone know where to get a decent BIG projector screen, I currently have a 5' one which isnt that big
Im looking for a 7' wide one
edited to add, I already have Projector, Amps, Speakers, Dobly Digital, DVD etc
I want a ceiling mount screen too (not motorized, too expensive)
Cheers

7" wide electric screen is £900, fixed screens are not that much cheaper £800ish. It is essential to have a cood screen in order to get the best out of your projector. What type of pj are you using LCD, DLP or CRT?

Its an LCD Projector, Sharp XV-Z1E had it quite a few years now, but in my last house I only projected onto the wall (new house) as this gave me a much bigger screen size ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Da-lite are cheap and pretty good. I've got one 6'8" wide and it's fine. There's a UK supplier who I can't remember at the moment, but I'm sure google will help you out. Cos about £2-300 from memory

Ahhh, Steve - those are the fellas!!
It's actually http://www.direkt2u.co.uk/.
Not sure if you're interested, but I've got one of their 6'8" wide screens that I'm selling. Email me if you want to take it off my hands.

Yep thats what I did at my last house, but in my new house, I want it in front of my Window, as I have a small room that the projector will sit in, with just a hole for the lens to come through ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
That way all my DVD/Amps/Decoders etc will all be in this small room, and the noise can stay in there![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Ah right
Ive had mine for 4 years now, still on the same bulb, I bought it reconditioned with a brand new bulb, fans & filters
Ive done about 600 odd hours on it in that time, all the magazines rated it the best projector of its time, and I havent had a single problem with it![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I doubt if your black out blind will give you much gain on the picture. A decent screen will offer 1.2gain and above. For CRT and old LCD projectors this is an advantage. The gain of a screen is a bit like a road sign at night in that it appears to throw back more light at you that the other things around it.
