What do I do?
#1
Driving home this afternoon behind a big white van with blue light on the top, POLICE written above the doors and www.checkyourspeed.co.uk below that. Steady 45-49mph, nice day, not in a hurry, so happy to sit behind him.
Coming off a roundbout and up a hill, he pulls out to overtake a motor scooter before a junction on the right with a car approaching on the side road. The car stopped. The van is so slow passing the scooter, he's still on the wrong side of the road when a truck appears around the corner and, in my humble opinion, the van just got back on his own side of the road in time.
Two miles further on, just approaching a small town, white van driver overtakes a pedal cyclist on a bend by driving over double solid white lines. No danger, quick enough manoeuvre, but is that the point? I didn't think you could cross a solid white line at all.
Another two miles on, temporary traffic lights at roadworks and white van driver commits him(?)self to the other side of the road to go through the roadworks. Lights change to red and I'd reckon were at red for three seconds before the van passed the light and continued through the roadworks. I stopped and that was the last I saw of it.
I have no witness to corroborate what I saw, and I don't need any grief from plod, but it bloody annoys me and I am torn between doing nothing and forgetting about it or writing to the Chief Constable.
Anyone recommend a course of action, or inaction?

Oh, and I think it is legal to cross a solid white line under certain circumstances, such as if the vehicle is doing less than 10MPH.

Phew - so I'm not the only one who has seen these so called "Safety Vans" driving like morons.
I had to lamp on my anchors when I was going round an island this week, because one of these vans pulled out without even bothering to look.
It's a shame they haven't got a "How's my driving" badge on the back.
